What an emotional, melodic, reserved example of modern heaviness. This album is immensely singable without being repetitive or boring, and has an overall mellow sludgy heaviness that I can only liken to Steak Number Eight. I love this album's vibe!

An interesting fusion of black metal and jazz, with inspiration from various other forms of metal. There is a lot to like here, and many pleasant surprises. However, it does not always seem to form a cohesive whole.

I've been sleeping on this for far too many years, and only now do i realize that this record is absolutely excellent from beginning to end. The intro track, "Suicide Penguin", with its title and versatility, should be enough to convince you to buy this majestic album. Everything flows seamlessly, it's so freaking impressive. I really hope they'll release another album at some point, because this was definitely one of the greatest debuts i ever heard.

Holy unholy shitballs this is an oriental death metal masterpiece! I only discovered it just now while checking their upcoming 2020 new album Al Qassam through AMG. Checking out the rest of their discography was really worth it. Killer album.
