LYRICS:
Hands made of glass
Fragile to the touch
Vines of the snake
Poison the curious
Praised by the saint
An age of spite.
Malicious wicked being
Twisted be his tongue
Pounded to dust no bone remain
Gathered by the wind the ancient flies!
Trying to trick the eye
Attempting to crack the skies
Finding path of the older kind
Almost impossible to find
Defiling their statues (and) erasing their towns
Uproar their realm and show them real power
For I am one so nothing remains
spoil your leader as I am he.
Trying to trick the eye
Attempting to crack the skies
Heed your gaze upon the sky
Spreadeth are my wings.
After years of sleep
Burrowed under
Despising
Breaking free
I closed my eyes
I found my realm
I saw my death
I am one
I closed my eyes
I burned my realm
I saw my death
I am one.
What an emotional, melodic, reserved example of modern heaviness. This album is immensely singable without being repetitive or boring, and has an overall mellow sludgy heaviness that I can only liken to Steak Number Eight. I love this album's vibe! Dan Curhan
An interesting fusion of black metal and jazz, with inspiration from various other forms of metal. There is a lot to like here, and many pleasant surprises. However, it does not always seem to form a cohesive whole. spawnofchaos
I've been sleeping on this for far too many years, and only now do i realize that this record is absolutely excellent from beginning to end. The intro track, "Suicide Penguin", with its title and versatility, should be enough to convince you to buy this majestic album. Everything flows seamlessly, it's so freaking impressive. I really hope they'll release another album at some point, because this was definitely one of the greatest debuts i ever heard. SUPRAQUENCER
The Indonesian act Kekal leaves no genre unturned, colliding black metal with industrial music with melodic post-rock on this stunning LP. Bandcamp New & Notable Mar 25, 2023
New Zealand technical death outfit Ulcerate have often been praised for their innovative genre approach—but six albums into their discography, there's even greater strength in their consistency. Bandcamp Album of the Day Dec 20, 2016
Holy unholy shitballs this is an oriental death metal masterpiece! I only discovered it just now while checking their upcoming 2020 new album Al Qassam through AMG. Checking out the rest of their discography was really worth it. Killer album. hatbanger_ollie
